Turkish sauna or steam bath, also called Hammam, is characterized by its high humidity. This is provided by pipes constantly supplying steam into the sauna.

Basic difference between the Swedish sauna and the steam sauna is the presence of a higher humidity in the latter. The moisture in the steam baths is 100%. In addition, steam baths maintain a lower temperature than Swedish saunas; this varies between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius.
